Leicester winner gets Iffraaj off the mark

KILDANGAN Stud resident Iffraaj recorded his first winner as a sire at Leicester on Monday evening when the Kevin Ryan-trained Nasharra won the 5f juvenile maiden.

The colt, a 50,000gns foal and a £37,000 yearling, is a half-brother to Give Me The Night, a triple-winning juvenile and later Listed-placed, plus 6f juvenile winner Prime Mood.

Iffraaj, a son of Zafonic, was a triple Group 2 winner over 7f and was also a head second in the July Cup over 6f.

His dam, Pastorale is a half-sister to Cape Cross, sire of Sea The Stars and Ouija Board, out of the champion juvenile Park Appeal.

His 2010 fee of €6,000 is half that commanded during his first two seasons at stud.
