Cambridge Stud sets fees for Cape Blanco and co

CAPE BLANCO will stand at a fee of NZ$20,000 (£10,270/
€12,475) when he shuttles to Sir Patrick Hogan's Cambridge Stud in New Zealand from his northern hemisphere base of Ashford Stud in Kentucky for the first time this year.

Cape Blanco is currently standing his first season at Ashford for a fee of $17,500 (£10,966/€13,321).

The son of Galileo was unbeaten at two, when he won the Tyros and Futurity Stakes, and landed the Irish Derby and Irish Champion Stakes at three.

At four his trainer Aidan O'Brien campaigned him successfully in America, where he won a hat-trick of Grade 1s: the Man O'War Stakes, the Arlington Million and Joe Hirsch Turf Classic.

Cambridge stalwart Zabeel, a champion sire in New Zealand four times and in Australia twice, will cover mares at the age of 25 for a fee of NZ$100,000 (£51,351/€62,377).
