Yonaguska to Louisiana

GRADE 1 winner Yonaguska will relocate to Elite Thoroughbreds in Louisiana for the 2009 season, where he will stand for $4,000.

The 11-year-old son of Cherokee Run was originally scheduled to stand this season at Vinery in Kentucky for $5,000.

Yonaguska is the sire of six stakes winners from three crops of racing age including Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes third Yonagucci. He ended the 2008 season in sixth position on the US leading third season sires' list.

Campaigned by Michael Tabor in the US, Yonaguska won six races at two and three years including the Grade 1 Hopeful as a two-year-old, Grade 2 Hutcheson Stakes and Grade 2 Fall Highweight Handicap. He also ran third in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes.

Yonaguska will join a roster of 14 other stallions at Elite Thoroughbreds including former Vinery resident Brahms.
