Stormy Atlantic colt tops as Keeneland limps on

STEEP across-the-board declines continued at Keeneland on Friday, in the 11th session of the September yearling sale.

It took Just For Fun Stables only $80,000 to secure the session-topper, a Taylor Made Sales Agency-consigned colt by Stormy Atlantic out of the Holy Bullmare Emptythetill.

An Eaton Sales-consigned Yes It's True colt out of the Spinning World mare Spinning Miss became the second-most expensive yearling of the day when selling to Hayden Thoroughbreds for $50,000.

In the same session last year, eight yearlings sold for more than $80,000, with the most expensive making $195,000.

Turnover on Friday nosedived by 60 per cent to $2,504,800 on the same day last year. The average plummeted by 55 per cent to $10,224 and the median was down by 53 per cent from $7,000.
