Yeomanstown welcomes first foal by Approve

THE first foal by 2010 Gimcrack Stakes winner Approve has been born; a bay filly out of Listed heroine Bakewell Tart.

The filly, who was born at Yeomanstown Stud on Monday morning, is reported to be an attractive individual with "excellent bone and good size". She is the fifth foal out of Bakewell Tart, a Tagula sister to French Listed winner Macaroon who is also the dam of triple winner Chester Deelyte.

Approve was one of the toughest two-year-olds of 2010, winning three of ten starts for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing and William Haggas. His finest moments came when he landed the Gimcrack Stakes under a penalty and the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot but he also ran third in the Middle Park Stakes.

The son of Oasis Dream stands for €5,000 at Morristown Lattin Stud.
