Yarraman Park snaps up Invincible Spirit son

YARRAMAN Park in New South Wales, Australia, has secured the services of I Am Invincible, one of the highest achieving Australian-bred sons of Invincible Spirit.

I Am Invincible takes the place of Foreplay, a son of Danehill who is subfertile, on the Yarraman roster. He is believed to be the first son of Invincible Spirit at stud in the southern hemisphere.

Bred by International Thoroughbred Bloodstock Investments out of the Canny Lad mare Cannarelle, I Am Invincible won the Group 3 Stakes over 6f at Morphettville last April and a month later, over the same course and distance, ran second to Takeover Target in the Group 1 Goodwood Stakes.

Yarraman Park owner Arthur Mitchell said: "I Am Invincible showed unbelievable speed from only a couple of starts as a juvenile, and that talent was realised later in his career with several spectacular wins.

"His sire Invincible Spirit is regarded as one of the best in Europe and as such no longer shuttles to Australia, while his female family is full of good, tough Australian winners and current stakes horses O'Lonhro and Madame Pedrille."

Invincible Spirit shuttled from the Irish National Stud to Chatswood Stud in Australia for four seasons from 2003 until 2006.
