New winner for first-season sire Baltic King

TALLY-HO Stud stallion Baltic King wasrepresented by his second winner in Britain and Ireland when Xinbama swooped late to deny Indepub in the 6f nursery at Pontefract on Tuesday.

The colt had shown fair form on his penultimate start when third to Percy Jackson in a maiden at Bath and was making his fifth start for John Hills.

Bred by P. Heffernan, Xinbama was purchased for £10,000 by Amanda Skiffington at the DBS Premier Yearling Sales. He is a half-brother to five winners including profilic scorer Scotty's Future and out of Persian Empress, a placed daughter of Persian Bold.

Listed winner Baltic King has been represented by 11 runners in Britain and Ireland to date including the exciting Factory Time, who took his record to two from two when successful in a novice race at Chepstow last month.
