ON THE tenth anniversary of Tiznow becoming the only horse to win back-to-back Breeders' Cup Classics, his owner WinStar Farm is offering a free breeding season to Tiznow for any filly or mare who wins this year's Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on N0vember 5.

A WinStar press release says the farm "is hoping to encourage some of the top fillies and mares in training to follow in Zenyatta's footsteps by contesting Saturday's featured Classic in prime time, while also celebrating the anniversary of Tiznow's feat".

WinStar president Elliott Walden said: "WinStar is thrilled to be involved with racing's championship event, and we believe this industry has an interest in matching the best horses against each other in the Classic.

Tiznow, who stood the 2011 breeding season at a fee of $75,000 live foal, won the 2000 and 2001 Breeders' Cup Classics before retiring to stud at WinStar.

He has sired eight individual Group/Grade 1 winners headed by Dubawi World Cuphero Well Armed and this season's Metropolitan Handicap and Whitney Invitational winner Tizway.

Carter Carnegie of the Breeders' Cup board said: "We are very encouraged by WinStar's generous offer to owners of potential female Classic starters to win a free season to the one of Breeders' Cup's most popular champions, Tiznow.

"We have seen the enormous amount of interest that a great female like Zenyatta can bring to our industry by nearly winning back-to-back Classics."
