Distorted Humor gets 100th stakes winner

SAVVY SUPREME'S victory in the Classy Mirage Stakes for three-year-old fillies at Belmont Park on Wednesday brought up a notable landmark for her sire Distorted Humor.

She became the 100th individual stakes winner sired by the resident of WinStar Farm in Kentucky. Only Dynaformer has also sired a century of stakes winners among North America's active stallions.

Savvy Supreme was bred by Brereton C. Jones and Racehorse Management and she is a sister to Grade 1 Whitney Handicap winner Commentator. She was sold as a foal for $520,000 at the 2008 Keeneland November Sale.

"Distorted Humor has been with us since the inception of WinStar Farm, and he's been a consistently great sire deserving of this milestone," said Robert Hammond, bloodstock and stallions director at WinStar.

"We've supported him from day one and it's exciting that a WinStar homebred – who also happens to be a full sibling to Commentator, one of Distorted Humor's best runners – became his 100th stakes winner."

Distorted Humor, an 18-year-old son of Forty Niner, is sire of 11 Group/Grade 1 winners including Kentucky Derbo hero Funny Cide and last season's National Stakes scorer Pathfork.
