Croco Rouge
transfers to France

GROUP 1 winner Croco Rouge has been purchased by Haras de la Foret and the French National Stud in a deal brokered by Richard Venn and Jeremie Bossert.

The announcement marks the latest move for the son of Rainbow Quest, who opened his stud career at the Irish National Stud before spending seasons in Japan, at Glenview Stud in Ireland and Yorton Farm in Shropshire, where he stood the past year for £1,750.

Croco Rouge's time at the Irish National Stud produced five stakes winners, including the Grade 2 San Luis Rey Handicap winner Boule D'Or and Group 3 winner Crocodile Dundee.

He is also the sire of the top-class Japanese filly Field Rouge as well as several useful jumpers including Wins Now, who ran second in a Grade 3 novice chase at Tipperary earlier this month.

A half-brother totriple Group 1 producer Alidiva, Croco Rouge lived up to his illustrious family by taking four races including the Prix Lupin and Prix d'Ispahan. He also ran second to Dream Well in the Prix du Jockey-Club and third to Montjeu in the Arc.

Croco Rouge's fee will be decided at a later date.
