Wine And Dyne is new top lot at Keeneland

BOOK 2 of the Keeneland November breeding stock continues its slow start today, but there is a new top lot: six-year-old Dynaformer mare Wine And Dyne, after selling to Nancy Dillman for $350,000.

"[Dillman] has about four or five mares and is always looking to upgrade," said Headley Bell of Nicoma Bloodstock, who signed the ticket. "She’s a dear friend. She’s what everybody wants to have in the horse business, a really fine lady."

Dillman bred 2010 Graded stakes winner Havre De Grace, who finished third in the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic on Firday.

Wine And Dyne, who is carrying her first foal, will be sent to Dillman's farm near Anchorage, Kentucky. Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent,  consigned the mare, who is in foal to Giant’s Causeway.

"We liked all the ingredients," said Bell. "We liked her as a racemare, the Dynaformer, and the Giant’s Causeway. It was a little more than we wanted to pay based on the day,but at the same time I felt she stood out, and we accept that."
