Wild Coco wins Park Hill Stakes for Shirocco

Park Hill Stakes (Group 2, fillies and mares),
Doncaster 1m6½f

Winner: Wild Coco

4yo ch f Shirocco - Wild Side (Sternkoenig)

WILD COCO scored her first Group 2 victory with a comfortable win in the Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday.

The daughter of Shirocco is one of four Pattern-race winners by her sire, who stands at Dalham Hall Stud.

The others are Arrigo (Oppenheim Union-Rennen), Grand Vent (Prix Noailles) and Hartani (Curragh Cup).

Wild Coco pays tribute to her grandsire Monsun - the sire of Shirocco - who was put down aged 22 in Germany on Tuesday.

Henry Cecil-trained Wild Coco carries the silks of her German-based breeder, Gestüt Röttgen, which decided to advertise her German bloodlines in the UK after she was not sold for 60,000gns as a yearling.

She is out of the Sternkoenig mare Wild Side, a Group 2 winner over 1m4f in Germany and a half-sister to German St Leger winner Win For Us and German Oaks runner-up White Rose.

Wild Side is also the dam of this season's German Oaks sixth Wilddrossel (Dalakhani) and Grade 2-placed hurdler Wendel (Definite Article).
