Melbourne Cup winner Shocking landed another Group 1 at Flemington

Classy double in Australia for Street Cry

DARLEY'S Jonabell Farm resident Street Cry sired a Group double at Flemington on Saturday, with Shocking in the Group 1 Dubai Australian Cup over 1m2f and Whobegotyou in the 1m Group 2 Blamey Stakes.

Street Cry has enjoyed such top-level successes in the US as Street Sense's Kentucky Derby win and the 13 Grade 1s farmed by Zenyatta, along with 6f and 7f Grade 1 wins from Street Boss. Street Sense and Street Boss are now stallions under the Darley America banner.

His shuttling to Australia is reaping rewards too, topped by the 2009 Melbourne Cup hero Shocking, out of the Danehill mare Maria Di Castiglia, and triple Group 1 winner Whobegotyou, out of the Carnegie Japanese-bred mare Temple Of Peace. Both are trained by Mark Kavanagh.

Street Cry, who won the Dubai World Cup, is by Machiavellian and a brother to the dam of Shamardal. He stands in Kentucky for $150,000.
