Bumper scorer Benleigh tops early DBS action

HENRY Daly's Ludlow bumper winner Benleigh was the early standout at today's Spring Horses In Training Sale at Doncaster.
The four-year-old, who scored in Daly's colours on his only start last month, changed hands for £62,000 after Newmarket agent Mags O'Toole prevailed in a battle with trainer Nicky Henderson.

O'Toole stood with Eddie O'Leary, brother of Ryanair boss Michael, while bidding for the Mr Combustible gelding.

Trainer Howard Johnson was also in action early on, paying £50,000 for Irish point-to-point winner Whats Up Woody.
