Harlan's Holiday half-brother
breaks maiden

WEE GIANT proved to be the highlight of a quiet early afternoon at Wolverhampton on Monday when taking division one of the 7f juvenile maiden for Mark Johnston.

The son of Giant's Causeway, who was making his second start, is out of the dual-winning Affirmed mare Christmas In Aiken and a half-brother to the triple Grade 1 winner and Dubai World Cup runner-up Harlan's Holiday (Harlan), now a leading young stallion in the US.

The $140,000 yearling purchase is also a half-brother to five other winners in the US including the stakes-placed pair Dr Holiday (Kayrawan) and Boxcar Cat (Railway Cat).
