PATHFORK (b c Distorted Humor - Visions Of Clarity by Sadler's Wells)

Breeder: Flaxman Holdings in the US

PATHFORKmade it three wins from three runs with a determined victory in the Group 1 National Stakes.

The Jessica Harrington-trained colt raced prominently on rain-softened ground at the Curragh and struck on two furlongs from home.

Only Casamento posed a serious threat, running on well along the rail, but he could not peg back Pathfork. The pair drew clear of Phoenix Stakes winner Zoffany, who stuck on for third.

Pathfork's sire, Distorted Humor, has been a leading light of the American stallion ranks since his first crop yielded Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Funny Cide.

He has sired top-flight winners in North and South America, Australia and Malaysia, but Pathfork is his first Group 1 winner in Europe.

Pathfork was bred by the Niarchos family's Flaxman Holdings out of the Listed-winning Sadler's Wells mare Visions Of Clarity, a three-parts sister to the Niarchos family's Irish 2,000 Guineas winner and top miler Spinning World.

He was bought for $230,000 by owners Silverton Hill LLC at last year's Keeneland September yearling sale.
