Vinery stallion Alke sold to stand in Thailand

SECOND-season stallion Alke, a resident of Dr Tom Simon's Vinery operation in Florida, has been sold to stand at Sawangjai Farms in Thailand from next year.

A nine-year-old son of Grand Slam out of the Crow mare Pasampsi, Alke hailed from the family of leading young US sire Posse.

Alke won at two, three and four, and scored in five of his ten starts in total. He also ran second to Our New Recruit in the Golden Shaheen at Nad Al Sheba at four.

His best progeny to date include the stakes-placed pair Sweet Like Sugar and Trysting.

Alke stood at a fee of $3,000 for the 2009 breeding season.
