More Than Ready fee reduced in Australia

SHUTTLE stallion More Than Ready has had his fee at Vinery Australia reduced  from A$121,000 to A$99,000 (£64,400, €72,900) for 2011.

More Than Ready shuttles between Vinery's basesin Kentucky and Australia. All of his seven Group 1 winners were bred in Australasia, including Golden Slipper heroes Phelan Ready and Sebring.

The son of Red Ransom's best US-bred horses include More Than Real and Pluck, who won the fillies' and colts' versions of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Churchill Downs in November.

Big Brown, a fellow shuttler from Kentucky, has had his fee reduced from A$44,000 to A$27,500 (£17,870, €20,250).

Last year's champion US freshman sire Congrats shuttles to Vinery for the first time and will stand at A$22,000 (£14,300, €16,200).

Vinery Stud general manager Peter Orton said: "Our proven sires, More Than Ready, Testa Rossa and Mossman continue to produce high quality horses whilst our young stallions in Excites, Dubleo and Benicio are gaining serious momentum as their horses hit the tracks.

"Proven stallions are the essence of what makes up a stallion roster and it takes time and class for any stallion to achieve this. To have been able to acquire a stallion of the calibre of Congrats is most exciting; he is the most magnificent looking stallion and as a result has produced high quality stock".
