Pioneerof The Nile stud fee announced

VINERY has shown its hand early by becoming one of the first studs to set a fee for a new addition to the stallion ranks in 2010.

The operation, owned by Dr Tom Simon, hasannounced that Pioneerof The Nile will stand his first season at stud at its Kentucky base for a fee of $20,000 live foal.

Vinery general manager Tom Ludt said: "Pioneerof The Nile broke his maiden at Saratoga on the turf, won four consecutive Graded stakes on all-weather, and was second in the Kentucky Derby on dirt.

"He's very attractive, has an appealing pedigree, and is clearly one of the best and most consistent horses in his crop."

A son of Empire Maker out of the Listed-winning Lord At War mare Star Of Goshen, Pioneerof The Nile won the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity last year and doubled his tally of top-level victories when scoring in the Santa Anita Derby in April.
