Vanjura retired and booked for Raven's Pass

GERMANY'S dual Istanbul Trophy heroine Vanjura has run her last race and will be covered by Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass at Kildangan Stud next year.

Vanjura, a four-year-old daughter of last year's champion German sire Areion, was trained by Roland Dzubasz to win six stakes races, including the Group 2 Diana-Trial and valuable Group 2 Istanbul Trophy in Turkey at three.

This year she landed the Group 3 Walther J Jacobs Stutenmeile, repeated in the Istanbul Trophy and signed off her career with success in the Group 2 Premio Ribot.

Vanjura is out of the Zinaad mare Venia Legendi, making her a half-sister to Listed winner Vancovia. Her third dam Princess Eboli won the Lancashire Oaks in 1978.

Venia Legendi produced a Hurricane Run filly this year and is booked to be covered by New Approach in 2012.
