Classic quotes for Sea The Stars' half-brother

SEA THE STARS’ yearling three-parts brother Born To Sea has been priced up at 66-1 for the 2012 2,000 Guineas and Derby by Ladbrokes. He is a 200-1 shot to pull off the double.

The Christopher Tsui-owned yearling, who featured among 478 Derby entries received for the 2012 showpiece, is out of the superb producer Urban Sea, who aside from Sea The Stars foaled Group 1 winners Galileo and Black Sam Bellamy, US Grade 1 winner My Typhoon, Group 3 winner Urban Ocean, dual Oaks-placed Melikah and Epsom Oaks second All Too Beautiful.

Like Sea The Stars, Born To Sea is in the care of trainer John
Oxx.As a son of Invincible Spirit, Born To Sea shares the same
paternal grandsire Green Desert as Sea The Stars, who is by Cape Cross.

Invincible Spirit has proven himself versatile as a stallion, capable of producing top-classsprinters such as Fleeting Spirit
as well as middle-distance horses like French Derby hero Lawman.

Arc winner Urban Sea, a daughter of Miswaki, was a stronger influence for stamina; all of her foals to race have achieved their highest Racing Post Ratings over 1m2f to 1m4f, except for My Typhoon, a daughter of Giant’s Causeway whose Grade 1 win came over 1m1f.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “The reports about Born
To Sea are exciting and hope springs eternal for punters who remember Sea The Stars with such affection.”
