Acclamation (Unsual Heat): has career earnings of over $1.5 million

Another Grade 1 race
win for Acclamation

And this time not for the Rathbarry sire who has enjoyed a tremendous 2011, but instead the five-year-old of the same name running in the US.

Acclamation, a son of Unusual Heat won his fourth Grade 1 race when successful in the TVG Pacific Classic Stakes from Twirling Candy. The race was run on the Polytrack surface at Del Mar and is the richest event in California for older horses. It was a second Grade 1 victory in successive runs at Del Mar for Acclamation, who won the Eddie Read Stakes last time out (the second year in a row that a colt by Unsual Heat won the race).

Acclamation has now earned over $1.5 million in prize-money.

Unusual Heat, a 21-year-old son of Nureyev,  stands at Harris Farms in California at a fee of $20,000 in 2011.

Although a US-bred, as a racehorse Unusual Heat was campaigned in Europe by trainer Dermot Weld where his best performances included Listed victories in the Amethyst Stakes and Glencairn Stakes, and a second in the Concorde Stakes (G3).

He has had eight worldwide Grade 1 wins, the other four coming courtesy of The Usual Q.T., who was the hrose victorous in the Eddie Read Handicap last year, and theHollywood Derby in 2009, the filly Golden Doc A and Unusual Suspect, who won the Hollywood Turf Stakes last November.
