Cheap buy-back Jawking wins Yearling Bonus

JAWKING, who was bought back by his vendor for just £800 at the DBS November mixed sale, made a mockery of that valuation when landing his owner a £10,000 Racing Post Yearling Bonus at Kempton.

The gelded son of Compton Place is the second foal out of the Night Shift mare Just Down The Road, whose first, by Diktat, won a claimer at Southwell in January.

Jawking is trained by David Evans, who also trained the short-head second, Umph.
