wins maiden on
second career start

DESPITE not having run for two months' and then stumbling out of the stalls, Misty For Me (Galileo) ran a cracking race in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf  on Friday to finish three-quarters of a length and a nose behind the race winner Perfect Soul and runner-up Nahrain.

It looks as though her two-year-old sister Twirl might be up to following in the footsteps of her four-time Group 1 and Classic winning sibling - she won her maiden by 6l at Leopardstown today on just her second racecourse start.

The Racing Post's race analysis says: "Twirl had shown promise when third on her debut over the same course and trip lastmonth and clearly benefited from the experience. She had all her rivals in trouble early in the straight and stretched clear from over 1f out to win unchallenged. A sister to multiple Group 1 winner Misty For Me, she has the potential to do well next season."

The dam of the Galileo pair is Butterfly Cove, a sister to the 7f Group 3 winner Kamarinskaya and a half-sister to Fasliyev, winner of the Phoenix Stakes (G1) and Prix Morny (G1) and unbeaten as a juvenile.  She is out of a half-sister to US Grade 1 winners Menifee and Desert Wine.
