Further success for Juddmonte in Eclipse

Coral Eclipse Stakes (Group 1), Sandown, 1m2f, 3yo+

TWICE OVER (5 h Observatory - Double Crosssed by Caerleon) Breeder: Juddmonte Farms Ltd

TWICE Over capitalised upon the late defection of Mawatheeq and disappointing run of Dar Re Mi in excellent style on Saturday to capture the Eclipse Stakes and therefore continue the excellent season enjoyed by Juddmonte.

The Henry Cecil-trained five-year-old is Juddmonte-bred top to bottom as a son of Khalid Abdullah's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner Observatory - himself a son of another Juddmonte runner in Distant View - and a great-grandson of Lost Virtue, whom the operation purchased for $375,000 at the 1986 Keeneland November Sale.

Twice Over is one of eight stakes winners by Observatory and the stallion's second at the highest level following Haydock Sprint Cup winner African Rose, who was also bred by Juddmonte.

This branch of the Lost Virtue family has gone from strength to strength during the past three seasons with Twice Over's granddam, Quandary, also featuring as the granddam of Passage Of Time, Father Time and recent Sandringham Handicap winner Timepiece.

Twice Over's dam, the Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Double Crossed, has a two-year-old colt by Intikhab named Serious Breach and a yearling brother to Twice Over.

In addition to breeding the winner and standing Observatory, Juddmonte also stand Oasis Dream, sire of the fast finishing runner-up Sri Putra.
