Tsui snaps up two Stars for half a million

ALL eyes on Tattersalls on Friday will be on the first-crop of foals catalogued by the outstanding Group 1 winner Sea The Stars.  Nine are set to go under the hammer from about midday onwards and if the results from Goffs are anything to go by - where four from his first crop averaged €572,000 - today's session will provide more than its share of excitements.

The nine Sea The Stars foals selling today are:

863) ch c x Coyote (Indian Ridge); out of the Listed-placed Coyote and a half-brother to four winners including Group 3 winner Oh Goodness Me and Listed winner Braveheart. Juvenile half-sister Colima recently won her debut at Nottingham. From Crimbourne Stud.  Bought by John Clarke, acting for Christopher Tsui, for  160,000gns

939) b c x Ripples Maid (Dansili): out of a Listed-winning sprinter, who was purchased at the 2010 December Sale by David Redvers and Stephen Hillen for 240,000gns. From Tweenhills Farm and Stid. Bought by John Clarke, again acting for Christopher Tsui, for 340,000gns

945) b f x Caumshinaun (Indian Ridge); out of a Listed winner, this filly is a three-partssister to 2006 Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Nightime. From the Castlebridge Consignment. Purchased by James Wigan for an undisclosed client, for 280,000gns

949) ch f x Miss Hawai (Peintre Celebre); half-sister to the Group 1-placed Beach Bunny. From Oaklands Farm Stud. Bought by Meridian International for 150,000gns

955) b c x Virtuosity (Pivotal); out of a winning sister to Group 1-winning miler Virtual. From Cheveley Park Stud. Knocked down to Yeomanstown Stud for 60,000gns

962) b c x Foolish Act (Sadler's Wells); half-brother to the Listed-placed Foolish Ambition. From Norelands Stud. Timmy Hyde goes to 200,000gns to secure the colt

984) b c x Sadima (Sadler's Wells); reportedly the star of the show, this colt isa half-brother to Group 1 winners Youmzain and Creachadoir. From the Castlebridge Consignment. Not Sold

Lot 928, the Sea The Stars half-brother to Aqlaam, has been withdrawn.

This is traditionally the strongest day of the foal sale and early trading has seen a son of Oasis Dream snapped up by Highclere Stud  for 160,000gns.
