Top Aussie miler retired to Chatswood Stud

LEADING Australian miler Anacheeva will stand his first season at Chatswood Stud in Victoria, Australia, later this year.

Trained by Peter Moody, Anacheeva won three stakes races including the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas over a mile in October 2010. The four-year-old was also placed in the Group 1 AJC Australian Derby.

Anacheeva is from the penultimate southern hemisphere crop of Anabaa and a brother to Group 1 winner Headturner. The pair are out of the Zabeel mare Monroe Magic.

His original owners, Geoff Guest and Jill Kewish, have retained an interest in the horse while Chatswood and Peter Moody have also each acquired a shareholding.

Chatswood, which once stood Invincible Spirit, has set Anacheeva's first year fee at A$8,800 (£5,704/€6,845) + GST.
