Top American miler Divine Park off the mark

GRADE 1 Metropolitan Handicap winner Divine Park became the latest American first-season sire to get off the mark on Saturday when his two-year-old daughter Cmonbabylitemyfire won a 5f maiden special weight at Assiniboia Downs.

Bred in Kentucky by Morris Floyd, Cmonbabylitemyfire is the second winner from as many foals of racing age out of the Dixie Union mare Lady Fairway. The Ardell Sayler-trained filly is also related to Grade 2 winner and sire Hook and Ladder.

Divine Park was a top-class miler, winning six of nine starts including the Grade 1Metropolitan Handicap, Grade 3 Withers Stakes and Grade 3 Westchester Handicap. The best son sired by the late Juddmonte stallion Chester House, Divine Park stands at Airdrie Stud in Kentucky for $10,000.
