Top Abdullah juvenile Digamist dies at age of 26

DIGAMIST, Khalid Abdullah's 1987  Heinz 57 Phoenix Stakes winner, has died at the age of 26. He had been standing as a stallion at the Xanthus Farm in Pennsylvania.

The son of Blushing Groom and the Northern Dancer mare Disconiz sold for $625,000 at the 1986 Keeneland July Sale and won three of his seven starts. His 19 stakes horses included Panamanian champion Romanono and the smart Australian horse Kalaf.

Meanwhile, according to the Blood Horse, the same farm has lost its eight-year-old stallion Barbican due to a respiratry infection.

Bred by Darley, the son of AP Indy was a half-brother to Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Tempera.
