Double Trigger keeps pace with brother

DOUBLE TRIGGER made sure on Saturday that sire brother Double Eclipse, who gained his first Grade 1 winner at the Festival when Go Native won the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, does not get all the family glory when his own seven-year-old son Russian Trigger took the Listed 4m Midlands' National at Uttoxeter.

It was a first stakes race winner over fences for the East Burrow Stud-based stallion, who won 12 Group races, and a second National victory for East Burrow homebred Russian Trigger who also won Kent's version at Folkestone in February.

Rallying past the legless Flintoff in the final few yards, the victory secured the record Scoop6 bonus of £3.18 million for Harry Findlay and the ten bonus hunters who joined forces with him.

Double Trigger stands at a fee of £2,500 alongside Tobougg who is embarking on his first season at East Burrow having transferred from Darley Stud.
