Tobougg gets his first
graded hurdle winner

THE first race on Saturday's Aintree card, the Grade 2 Mersey Novices Hurdle, provided a great result for East Burrow Farm. The winner, Bouggler, is a son of Tobougg who moved to the stud through the winter and the victory by the Emma Lavell-trained gelding provided the former Darley sire with his first graded win over hurdles.

It was only a second outing over timber for Bouggler, who won over 2m on the Flat. He was bred by David Brown, Slatch Farm Stud and G B Turnbull and is out of the Night Shift mare Rush Hour.  Bouggler is her third foal and she has a three-year-old by Compton Place, as well as a two-year-old also by Tobougg named Beat The Rush.

Tobougg, who was a joint second top-rated two-year-old, stands at East Burrow Farm alongside Double Trigger.
