Grade 2 winner Tizdejavu retired to stud

GRADE 2 winner Tizdejavu hasbeen retired to stand at Crestwood Farm in Kentucky. A fee of $5,000 has been set for the five-year-old son of Tiznow.

A bold front-runner best on turf, Tizdejavu landed three consecutive Graded stakes victories as a three-year-old, namely the Grade 3 Crown Royal American Turf Stakes, Grade 2 Jefferson Cup Stakes and Grade 2 American Derby. He was also third to Winchester and Plan as the even-money favourite in the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes.

He enjoyed further Graded stakes success this season as a five-year-old when taking the Grade 2 Firecracker Handicap. He retires as the winner of half of his 16 starts and $693,153 in earnings.

One of three sons of Tiznow at stud in Kentucky alongside Colonel John and Tiz Wonderful, Tizdejavu is out of the winning Dixie Brass mare Remember When. Further back, it isthe family of Grade 1 winner Birdonthewire.
