Timos becomes first Sholokhov son at stud

UP-AND-COMING German sire Sholokhov has his first son at stud from this year, with the arrival of Timos at the Haras deLigneres in France.

Seven-year-old Timos was bred by Gestut Etzean, where Sholokhov, a Gran Criterium-winning son of Sadler's Wells, stands.

Timos, a half-brother to Group 3 winner Tareno, was sold to Algarve Bloodstock for €46,000 at the BBAG yearling sale and was trained by Thierry Doumen for the Marquesa de Moratalla.

Timos's career victories included two Listed races over 1m4f at Saint-Cloud but his best efforts came in defeat aged five, when he was second to Allied Powers in the Grand Prix de Chantilly and a close third behind Duncan in the Prix Foy.

Timos, who hails from Sholokhov's first crop, will stand at a fee of €1,200. Sholokhov is also sire of German horse of the year Night Magic and Group 3 scorers Monami and Peace Royale.
