First foal for
Arc hero Rail Link

JUDDMONTE Farms have welcomed the first foal, a bay filly, by their Arc winner Rail Link. Produced out of the Listed-placed Verbose, the filly is a three-parts sister to Thousand Words, a juvenile Group 3 winner by Dansili who is standing his first season at Rathasker Stud in Ireland.

"It is always exciting to see the first foal from a first-crop sire," said Philip Mitchell, general manager of Juddmonte Farms. "It is also unusual to see anything but complimentary remarks about these foals!

"However our anticipation was that Rail Link, being such a correct son of Dansili, would pass on his quality and good looks and therefore would be of great benefit to the Juddmonte broodmare band. Verbose's foal can onlygive us added encouragement in this respect."

Rail Link retired to Banstead Manor Stud as the winner of five of six completed starts and nearly £1.1m in prize-money. In addition to capturing the Arc over a field which included Hurricane Run and Deep Impact, Rail Link also won the Grand Prix de Paris and Prix Niel.

He will stand this season at £9,000.
