ZEBEDEE (c Invincible Spirit - Cozy Maria by Cozzene)

Breeder: Hascombe & Valiant Studs

THE Dragon Stakes proved to be easy pickings for Zebedee, who travelled well on the inner under Richard Hughes before asserting to beat The Thrill Is Gone by a length-and-a-quarter.

The grey - a 70,000gns yearling purchase by Peter Doyle - is the third Dragon Stakes winner by the Irish National Stud's Invincible Spirit following Bahama Mama and Light The Fire. He is also the stallion's ninth European stakes winner of the year and 38th overall.

Zebedee is the first winner from four foals out of Cozy Maria, who followed up her maiden win at Ripon with placings in the Listed Valiant Stakes and Listed Lupe Stakes.

Further back, this is the family of champion Miss Alleged.
