The Factor wins San Carlos Stakes at Santa Anita

The Factor: Grade 1 winner will stand for $15,000

The Factor retired to stand at Lane's End

GRADE 1 winner The Factor has been retired to stand at Lane's End Farm in Kentucky in 2013. The son of War Front will stand as the property of a syndicate and will command a first year fee of $15,000.

The Factor retires as the winner of six races for trainer Bob Baffert, including five Graded stakes topped by the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes and Grade 1 Pat O'Brien Stakes.

The grey also carried the colours of George Bolton and Fog
City Stable in last year's Grade 2 Rebel Stakes and this season's Grade 2 San Carlos Stakes. His earnings stand at $922,180.

"The Factor showed brilliant speed and exceptional scope and quality in his three seasons on the racetrack and Lane's End is very pleased to stand this stunning horse whose pedigree will be of great interest to breeders," said Lane's Farm owner Will Farish.

A $250,000 two-year-old purchase at the 2010 Barretts May Sale, The Factor is the best of four winners out of Greyciousness, a winning Miswaki half-sister to Breeders' Cup Juvenile runner-up and one-time Kentucky sire Chief Seattle.
