The Cheka: has a newborn half-sister by Rock Hard Ten on the ground

First foal born at Black's Chasemore Farm

CHASEMORE FARM in Surrey, owned by Betfair co-founder Andrew Black and his wife Jane, welcomed its first ever foal on Tuesday.

The new arrivalis a bay Rock Hard Ten filly out of the Royal Academy mare Veiled Beauty, making her a half-sister to Group 3 John of Gaunt Stakes winner The Cheka.

Stud manager Paul Coombe is delighted with the first foal born under his charge: "She is of good size and has plenty of quality," he said.

Veiled Beauty will be covered by Zamindar this year. Zamindar is a brother to Zafonic, whose son Xaar sired The Cheka.
