Shadiyna makes $260,000 at Keeneland

A QUARTER of the way through Wednesday’s third session of the Keeneland November breeding stocksale - the first day of Book 2 - three horses have sold for at least $250,000.

Two broodmares fetched $260,000: Shadiyna, a five-year-old Dubai Destination mare, sold to Yushun Company, while The Best Day Ever, a four-year-old daughter of Brahms, went to River Bend Farm. Both mares are carrying their first foals.

Shadiyna is out of the Group 2 winner Shamadara, who is also the dam of multiple group winner Shamdala and stakes winner Shamakiya. Consigned by Middlebrook Farm, agent, Shadiyna was offered in foal to Harlan’s Holiday.

The Best Day Ever, who was Graded stakes-placed during her racing career, is out of theGrade 3 winner Added Asset. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, she was offered in foal to Bernardini.

Earlier in the day, a weanling colt by Candy Ride sold to Pacific Racing for $250,000.  The colt is out of the Seeking the Gold mare Seeking Results, who is a half-sister to multiple grade 1 winner River Keen. He was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.
