Relation to Malibu Moon retired to Spendthrift

GRADE 3 winner Temple City has been retired from racing and will stand alongside his close relation, leading US sire Malibu Moon, at Spendthrift Farm in Kentucky. A fee will be announced in due course.

A son of Dynaformer, Temple City won two races on dirt, including his debut over 6 1/2f, before switching to turf, on which he landed the Grade 3 Cougar II Handicap  at Del Mar in track record time. He also ran second in the Grade 1 Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes and Grade 2 American Handicap.

He retires as the winner of four of 15 races and $326,400 in prize-money.

Temple City is out of Curriculum, a Danzig half-sister to Malibu Moon. The son of A P Indy is the sire of six Grade 1 winners from eight crops of racing age.
