Club for young racing enthusiasts launched

THE Thoroughbred Breeders' Association's Next Generation Committee, comprising young people who are employed in the bloodstock industry, has launched The Next Generation Club.

The club is aimed at under 35s who have an interest in racing and breeding and would like to become more involved and educated, while also mixing with like-minded young people.

Anyone interested can register for free at, which will allow registered users to apply for the schedule of free events at race meetings, trainer's yards, bloodstock sales and stud farms around the country.

The website also outlines the club's aims and objectives, provides news and reports on organised events, offers careers guidance and links to other industry initiatives directed towards young people.

Committee chairman Jane Hedley said: "We hope that by forming the NGC, we will create an umbrella under which all young people with a common interest in the future of the racing and bloodstock industry can unite.

"We envisage a club which encourages social interaction and educational opportunities for both the owners and breeders of the future and for those wishing to pursue a career in the industry."
