TBA seminar to debate current state of industry

THIS year's TBA seminar will take place on Tuesday, June 30, at Tattersalls in Newmarket. The focus of the event will be the current state of the breeding industry and its future in the face of global recession.

Morning speakers Bill Oppenheim, Grant Pritchard-Gordon, Adrian Crichton and Paul Greeves will be supported by a panel of industry experts including Tony Morris, David Redvers, Philip Freedman and Tom Goff.

John Harrison of marketing consultants Harrison Fraser and Rod Street, project director for Racing Enterprises Ltd, open the afternoon by reiterating the recent review of  British horseracing that resulted in a series of recommendations for a new brand vision for the sport.

Following that, a number of presentations on marketing, finance, legal aspects and property management will aim to give breeders practical advice for supporting their businesses.

BBM welcomes French breeders
British Bloodstock Marketing will host a three-day visit to Newmarket by members of the Syndicat des Eleveurs, the French equivalent of the TBA, from June 8 to June 10.

Planned events on the itinerary include trips to the town's major stud farms and training gallops, and to the Newmarket Equine Hospital.
