The three-year-old gelding has made rapid strides since hittingthe track in June for Luca Cumani, winning three of six starts and finishing second against older horses in a 0-105 handicap at Ascot last time out. Brendan Holland of Grove Stud was also among those who tried to secure the colt.

Butler and Alatawi purchased Cornwallis Stakes winner Electric Waves yesterday for 200,000gns and like that filly, Formosina will be aimed at the Dubai Carnival.
