Pour Moi relation heads Tatts October catalogue

A GALILEO three-parts sister to Derby hero Pour Moi is among the 1,687 yearlings catalogued to this year's Tattersalls October Sale.

At 508 lots, Book 1, which will run from October 5 to 7, is 26 per cent smaller than last year's catalogue.

However, there is no shortage of quality; in addition to the three-parts-sister to Pour Moi, the sale has attracted the full or half-siblings to no fewer than 49 other Group 1 and Classic winners including a sister to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Roderic O'Connor, a Galileo half-brother to Arc winner Bago, a Dansili half-brother to dual Oaks heroine Sariska, an Excellent Art half-brother to Canford Cliffs and a Cape Cross half-brother to the unbeaten current 2,000 Guineas favourite Harbour Watch.

Also catalogued are progeny out of Group 1-winning mares such as Allegretto, Mrs Lindsay, Nannina and Sweet Stream.

All entries in Book 1 are eligible for the 2012/2013 Tattersalls Millions, which will comprise six races worth £1,300,000.

Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;  "Numerically this is a smaller Book 1 than last year, but it is a truly outstanding catalogue with the sort of cross section of sires that trainers and owners have come to expect from this sale.

"The Tattersalls Millions continues to be the most attractive and extensive sales race series in Europe designed to appeal to buyers at all levels of the market and racecourse results are equally compelling. Book 1 purchases costing anything from 20,000 guineas to 500,000 guineas have won 2011 Group and Listed races throughout the world and it is this combination of quality and value for money that makes Tattersalls October 1 Europe's premier yearling sale."

Book 2, which is scheduled for October 11 -13, is also a smaller affair this year with 832 lots catalogued compared to a mammoth 1,029 in 2010. Book 3 on October 14 comprises 345 lots.
