Whipper relation heads Tatts December yearlings

A THREE-parts brother to the brilliant performers Divine Proportions and Whipper heads a catalogue of 248horses for the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale on November 23.

The son of Lemon Drop Kid, who was knocked down to Galway Bloodstock for $450,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale in August, is also a brother to the Group 3-placed Mythical Kid.

Tattersalls has also catalogued a trio of colts from the final crop of Sadler's Wells including a brother to Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Sequoyah and Liffey Dancer, who set a world record fora yearling filly at auction when selling for 2.5m guineas in 2007, and the first foal out of Fillies' Mile heroine Red Bloom.

Other well-connected entries include the half-siblings to Excellent Art (by Araafa), Radiohead (by Sleeping Indian), Myboycharlie (by Kodiac), Termagant (by Red Ransom) and Diamond Green (by High Chaparral).

John Troy's consignment includes a colt from the first crop of Bernardini out of Musidora Stakes winner Cassis while hailing from Kilminfoyle House Stud is an Elusive Quality half-brother to the crack South African sprinter Overarching.

Although topped by 170,000gns sale of a Sinndar filly to Norris/Huntingdon, the 2008 Tattersalls December Yearling Sale suffered declines across-the-board.

The aggregate more than halved to 1,997,000gns for 103 sold - 55 per cent of those offered - while the average fell by 32 per cent to 19,388gns. The median dropped 43 per cent to 8,500gns.
