Weapon's Amnesty brother makes €75,000

FOR THE third day in succession Ben Case holds sway as he picks up the standout lot (1124) on the final day of the sale by giving E75,000 for an own-brother to Weapon's Amnesty.

Sold by Trench Hill Farm and owned by Aaron Metcalfe, the colt was easily one of the best related foals in the catalogue. His own-brother Weapon's Amnesty faces another spell on the sidelines this year but has already proved himself a jumper of the highest quality. A winner of the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham in 2009 the Charles Byrnes-trained gelding then returned to Prestbury Park a year later to win a high quality renewal of the RSA Chase.

Case was once again acting for client Lady Jane Grosvenor and this colt is likely to be reoffered as a three-year-old.

A WELL bred filly is now leading the way after Kein Heaney went to €31,000 for a daughter of King's Theatre consigned by Candlefort Stud on behalf of Paschal Keenan. Lot 1074 is a three-parts sister to the Grade 1 Powers Gold Cup winner One Cool Cookie and the Grade 1 John Durkan Memorial Chase scorer In Compliance.

Owner-trainer John Nallen was once again to the fore when paying €27,000 for a King's Theatre colt (Lot 1102) from Gerry Mullins' Ballyduane Stud. Nallen has already owned three of his winning siblings while the mare has also bred the high class Italian jumper Plinsky.

ON the closing day of the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale trade is quiet.

The ever present John O'Byrne is setting the pace so far, after giving 30,000 for a son of Presenting from Ashfield Stud.

Lot 1061 is a half-brother to the very useful Beroni, who won the Grade 2 Troytown Chase for Willie Mullins at Navan two seasons ago, and is also immediate family to the four-times Grade 1-winning jumper Sackville.
