Plenty of choice at Tattersalls Ireland Breeders' Flat Sale

APPROXIMATELY 194 horses are set to take their turn in the Tattersalls Ireland sale ring when the company stages their Breeders' Flat Sale, which has been shifted from its previous date in December to November 15.

A total of 174 horses make up the original catalogue while approximately another 20 have been entered in the supplementary catalogue.

Darley's 13-strong draft includes Sensation, dam of Group 3 winner Systematic, State Secret, dam of the Listed-placed Song Of Silence, Group 2 winner Susu and the stakes-placed pairSilver Bracelet and Maeander.


Entered from Ballykilbride Stud is Zakiyya, granddam of Grade 1 winner Alwajeeha, while the sale also represents an early opportunity to purchase foals from the first crops of Moss Vale and Red Clubs.

A three-parts brother to Prix de la Foret winner Caradak, by Desert Style, is among the yearlings on offer as are those by the likes of Dalakhani, Danehill Dancer, Dubawi, High Chaparral, Kheleyf, North Light and Oratorio.

Last year's sale, which was held on December 16, saw 91 horses change hands for a total of €263,850 and average of €2,899. The median was €1,600 while the clearance rate was 46 per cent.
