4pm: Alan Potts continues where he left off yesterday by spending €160,000 on a King’s Theatre three-year-old (Lot 394) belonging to Thomas Coleman.

He is a half-brother to a winner on the track and two point-to-point winners out of an unraced half-sister to the top-class but sadly ill-fated chaser Ten Plus.

Sizing Europe’s owner then bought the very next lot into the ring, giving €80,000 for a Milan four-year-old from Hallstown Stables. The grandson of Sadler's Wells is out of a half-sister to the Listed-winning hurdler Atteses and the Grade 2 Deloitte Novice Hurdle winner Native Estates.

3pm: A very popular son of the late King’s Theatre becomes the latest lot to hit six figures when he falls to Margaret O’Toole for €145,000.

A member of the strong Mount Eaton Stud draft, the three-year-old (lot 371) is a half-brother to the highly promising Staying Article who went unbeaten in a bumper and a maiden hurdle on his only outings for Edward O’Grady last season.

Aidan Kennedy, who bought Cue Card at this sale two years ago, tried hard to get the gelding but came up just short against O’Toole for the grandson of the Triumph Hurdle winner Shawiya.

Noon: Two six-figure lots already, both of which have made €140,000. The first of these was a smashing son of Presenting (lot 292) from Hallstown Stables who came the way of Aiden Murphy after he outlasted the challenge of Margaret O’Toole.

The three-year-old is the first foal out of an unraced Supreme Leader mare whose family goes back to the Fighting Fifth Hurdle winner Padre Mio.

Just two lots later Pat Connell, acting onbehalf of owner Pat Betts, forked out €140,000 for a very popular Milan gelding from Liss House who cost a mere €10,500 as a foal.

The grandson of Sadler’s Wells is a three-parts brother to this season’s very smart Grade 2-placed novice hurdler Join Together.
