Tattersalls catalogue 298 lots for February Sale

THE unbeaten three-year-old Pearl Rebel and 107-rated West Leake Diman are among the 298 lots catalogud for the Tattersalls February Sale on February 2.

The catalogue is marginally greater than the 2011 renewal, when 164 lots were sold for a total of 1,672,800gns. The average rose by an impressive 51 per cent to 10,197gns and trade was topped by Tony Nerses' purchase of Full Steam for 160,000gns.

 

Full Steam's vendor, Juddmonte Farms, is well represented again wih 25 lots catalogued, among them the half-sisters to the Group 1 winners Twice Over, Observatory and Stand To Gain.

Also catalogued is the Group 1-placed juvenile Singapore Lilly. Tattersalls took possession of the four-year-old daughter of Mujadil late last year after having not received payment following her 210,000gns sale to Californian owner Jeffrey DeHaven through Gordian Troeller atthe 2010 December Sale. She was also catalogued to the Fasig-Tipton November and Keeneland January Sales in Kentucky but withdrawn.

Other stand-outs include Ebatana, the dam of the Grade 3-winning hurdler Ebadiyan who is in foal to Zamindar; a Selkirk yearling half-brother to the Group 2-placed Persian Majesty; Group 3 winner Spirit Quartz; and the stallions Striking Ambition and Chineur.
