Carlisle: Valseur on the mark with sole runner
TARTAN SNOW, who bagged a third career win in the 2m Texas Live In Concert Here 2nd July Handicap Chase, remains the only British or Irish runner sired by Valseur.
A son of Lyphard, it is no surprise Valseur didn't make any waves as a stallion - he won once on the Flat in a Musselburgh maiden at two, and four times over hurdles in plating company. He was initally trained by Julie Cecil, joining Len Lungo as a four-year-old, and he is a half-brother to Secret Saver, who was second in the Group 3 Ormonde Stakes.
Tartan Snow is also the only British runner out of his dam Whitemoss Leader, a daughter of Supreme Leader who placed once from three starts over hurdles.
