Zenyatta and her first foal, a colt by Bernadini. She now visits Tapit  PICTURE:

Tapit date for America's sweetheart Zenyatta

ZENYATTA, the 2010 Horse Of The Year whose popularity has transcended racing, will visit Tapit following the birth of her first foal by Bernardini.

Tapit, who stands at Gainesway Farm in Kentucky, is one of America's most successful and expensive stallions covering this year at an advertised fee of $125,000 (£472,519/€565,054). His best performers include last season's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Colts winner Hansen, a leading candidate for the Kentucky Derby.

In a statement, owners Jerry and Ann Moss said:  "Zenyatta's pedigree is a great match to the A.P. Indy sire
line, and in choosing Tapit (a grandson of A.P, Indy), we thinkthis will be a dynamic mating. Her first mating was to Bernardini, a son of A.P. Indy, and we are thrilled
with her colt."

Zenyatta foaled her colt by Bernardini on
March 8.
